Glen Ellyn Library Introduces Programs for 20 & 30-somethings

Glen Ellyn, IL – January 19, 2011 – The Glen Ellyn Library invites adults in their twenties and thirties to “get out to get in” with the Glen Ellyn Public Library with programs at local bars and restaurants.
Librarian Allison Harrell leads these groups designed to target a demographic the library has decided to directly serve for the first time. “These programs are a great way to attract younger adult visitors to GEPL who might be more interested in attending a book group at a bar, rather than in the library itself,” Marketing Coordinator and twenty-something Heidi Gustad says.
On February 16, from 8 to 9 at the Tap House Grill, Harrell will be leading GEPL’s book group for 20 and 30-somethings, Books on Tap. At this, their first meeting, the popular book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins will be discussed. Harrell has also joined with the North Side Sports Bar & Grill to present Trivia Night on Tuesday, February 21, from 8 to 10 pm. For 20 and 30-something foodies, Grown-up Cooking Class will be on Wednesday, February 8 from 7 to 8 pm in the library itself, where patrons are encouraged to step up their cooking skills and embrace their inner grown-up.
The library looks forward to expanding its reach to this age group and encourages you to read more about these programs at gepl.org.
